I combined talents with the amazing fiber artist Kathi Klopfenstein.  
We quickly discovered the rustic beauty of her sculptural work combined with the smooth crystalline porcelain

Kathi was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and moved to the desert town of Yucca Valley after completing her art degree. Kathi retired after teaching high school for 35 years. 
 Thirty-two of those years were at a continuation high school where she taught art, math, and guidance.
Kathi’s introduction to basket making occurred in 1996 when she took a pine needle basketry class at the Idyllwild Arts adult summer program.  She was immediately drawn to the craft, and since then has explored a variety of basketry and gourd techniques.  She has studied basketry with over 20 nationally and internationally known basket artists.  Starting with functional baskets, Kathi’s work has evolved into sculptural pieces of art, frequently following organic lines.
