The Four Elements Series

The ancient Greeks believed there were four elements that everything was made up of: earth, water, wind, and fire.  Japanese Buddhism further represented this idea and defined each as tangible elements, as well as emotional attributes.

The idea that these four elements made up all matter spread through many cultures and was the cornerstone of philosophy, science, and medicine for two thousand years.

Although today we know the elements are far more complex than this, there is a certain romance I find in the idea of the original elements. My art form uses many of the modern elements; as well, I feel an emotional connection to them throughout the creative process.

For this reason, I wanted to create a tribute to the
original beauty and science found first in the world that is
Earth, Wind, Fire and Water.
